About

Wild Riddim

Wild Riddim is a visual identity for a fictional soca music festival inspired by my Guyanese and carribeann roots. The project combines bold hand drawn lettering and playful character illustrations to capture the rhythm and energy of Caribbean culture and soca music. Deliverables include posters, a logo, character set, and branded applications like merchandise and social media graphics.

Main Logo:

The main logo was developed from hand-drawn letterforms. My goal was to create something fun, rhythmic, and energetic. I wanted a logo that aligned with the spirit of soca music. The exaggerated curves and loose structure in the letters were intentional, capturing the vibrancy and movement that define the genre.

Anthropomorphic Characters:

Because this project draws inspiration from my Caribbean and Guyanese roots, I spoke with my father, who grew up in Guyana, about the animals he commonly encountered there. He mentioned flamingos and capybaras as part of his everyday environment, while the jaguar—Guyana’s national animal—also became an important symbol for the project.
